Love the photo.

And love the song.

The very very first album I ever bought was The Beach Boys. I was a little boy. I remember this so clearly. I was in an old department store, the kind with sawdust on the floors. I was holding my Dad's hand. And I asked him if we could buy this.

It's very moving to read what you wrote about your relation between music and childhood.

Rothko n' est pas loin dans ma mémoire visuelle et ce cliché à la force et l' impact de sa peinture.
Maintenant, il faut voir le format...

J'aime lorsque tu tempères le rapprochement de cette image (par la taille) avec la peinture de Rothko.
J'ai récemment revu une toile de Rothko à Beaubourg et je peux te garantir qu'il n'y a pas de commune mesure.
Un Rothko, c'est immense et cette photographie bien que très importante à mon coeur, est microscopique...
Et je suis persuadé, qu'avoir la volonté de faire se ressembler, une photographie (même si la mer est d'huile :-)) avec une peinture de ce très grand peintre, est une vaine tentative. Tu ne crois pas ?
50% d'air, 50% d'eau et au milieu l'horizon, c'est un raccourci, un clin d'oeil qui peut faire penser mais seulement à l'idée d'un Rothko. Seulement à ça.
(C'est un avis un peu tranché mais un Rothko, ça vibre et la peinture est une matière vivante ).
N'est ce pas ?
